Chain Saw Bars

We
have mentioned on this site that some echo chainsaw
parts are interchangable. Chain saw bars (also
called chain saw guide) are one of those echo parts
that are interchangable. You can find chainsaw bars
for every make and model, but the hard part is tryig
to pick what bar you actually want.
The
most common replacement chain saw bars are called
carving bars, however different manufacturers call them
different names. My best advice is to visit your local
shop and ask them what type of bar you should be using
and get the model number. However, if you know what
you want, then go ahead and order it online.
Who
Makes Chain Saw Bars
Cannon,
Oregon, and Carver are some of the manufacturers who
make replacement chain saw bars. To determine how long
your replacement chainsaw bar should be a simply measure
from the front of your saw to the end of the bar. Also
called cutting length this will tell you how long your
bar should be.
More
than likely you will want a bar with a sprocket nose
at the end to help the chain move more efficiently.
Heck they also make bars that help you tighten the chain
on the bar itself instead of the tension device.
Just
remember that your chainsaw chain and chainsaw bar need
to match: here are the common sizes:
Pitch:
.325 or .404 pr 1/4" or 3/8" Guage:
.043 or .050 or .058 or .063
